Found My Package |
'No big deal' you might say, but they're my second favorite international courier service provider, only because there are essentially two. The order was processed quicker than anticipated with the shipping information being sent to FedEx on Friday June 1st around noon. I certainly didn't expect my inbox to be flooded with status updates on the shipment or the nicely animated arrows point further down the delivery track each time I rechecked it over the weekend. I did expect the package to be at least picked up on Friday, since the info was sent in by noon; even if it was only taken down the street from the major Fortune 500 company's distribution center in Mexico to the FedEx distribution center.
But it wasn't. It made it to Fort Worth last night the 4th @ 7:00 pm and I was updated sometime after that. No notice saying 'hey we haven't lost your package over the last three and a half days' or 'your package is finally creeping its way to you.' Granted Texas is huge and Fort Worth is about ~570 mi from the origin in Mexico, but it only takes twice that time to WALK that distance (according to google maps). It left this morning at about 5:00 am and at 8:30 pm tonight I have no update. I assume it will arrive sometime tomorrow when I'm not here to sign for it.
I feel like this always happens with FedEx as opposed to UPS. How hard would it be for either company to do a better job updated the shipping status? I know it's a luxury that they provide any sort of updates, but c'mon man, do a better job.
UPDATE: As of 2:00 am, my package is in ATL. Of course it is. If I am driving to T-town from TX, I'd go via ATL too (nearly 4 hours away).
UPDATE #2:
